On Thursday June 15, 2017, a Chuangxin Kindergarten in Fengxian, Jiangsu province, China was apparently attacked with a gas cylinder bomb. On Friday, Chinese state media People’s Daily reported seven deaths, but the death toll was increased to eight as of Saturday. Additional 65 people have reportedly been wounded by the blast.

Chinese authorities confirmed they are investigating the explosion as a criminal act, and say they have identified the suspect and a search for him is currently underway. The identity of the suspect has not yet been released.

According to the Chinese publication Xinhua, the blast took place at 4.50pm, just as parents were picking up their children. Xinhua however also reported that no children or teachers were among the casualties, but in the video of the aftermath there appears to be at least one motionless child. You can see it in the screen grab above, between the legs of the sitting woman.

The child could be just knocked out, but either way, this is a good reminder for why it’s important to watch uncensored videos and determine what likely happened for yourself. Two videos below.
